about
Krowni (b. 1998, Löffingen, Germany) is an artist whose practice centers on the playful exploration of queer realities and fantasies. Her work creates a dialogue that explores a nuanced sense of familiar intimacy and femininity. Often featuring synthetic and organic objects, Krowni subtly fetishizes them, transforming these elements into vessels of personal expression and societal commentary.
By blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination, her work challenges prevailing notions of self-actualization and assimilation.
Her oil paintings are characterized by vibrant, layered colors and a selective use of distortion and exaggeration.
Drawing inspiration from pop-cultural references, personal photography and her lived experience as a lesbian woman in a male-centered society, Krowni crafts a visual language that is both intimate and expressive.
Krowni studies at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart under the mentorship of Prof. Alisa Margolis and Prof. Katrin Plavčak. She had her first solo exhibition with Better Go South Gallery in Berlin in 2024. Her work has been displayed in various group shows in and around Stuttgart, Berlin, Warsaw and her hometown in the south of Germany.
